Send Your Mom Flowers On YOUR Birthday

{This is a SPONSORED post and I am so grateful to The Bouqs Co. for this opportunity!}

If you know me, you know I LOVE traditions. (Like really really really love them)
I would have a tradition for every week if my husband wouldn’t sincerely judge me.

One tradition my husband DOESN’T think is crazy is sending our mama bears flowers on OUR birthdays. I know, I know. Your birthday is for YOU to be spoiled, but hear me out on this one…

Every year for the past few years (since I could start affording my own things and didn’t need to ask my mama for money), I love to send my mom flowers on my birthday. It is something unique and special in my eyes. (Unique until everyone starts doing this and I set a massive trend!) I mean if you think about it, you owe that woman everything. SHE BROUGHT YOU INTO THIS WORLD! And i’m sure she has reminded you of that a time or two. AM I RIGHT?! We love you mamas! 😉

Let’s be honest, I’m a sucker for flowers. M knows this. Flowers can make me smile in ANY situation and I just absolutely LOVE them displayed at my home.

Who orders flowers online? Come on….raise your hands! I know I do. Flowers are my “go-to gift” because we live in the middle of nowhere and it’s not easy for me to run and grab something for people or go visit them in the hospital. Happy, sad, just because….flowers are good for literally ANY occasion.
So if you’ve ever ordered flowers online…keep reading!

Have you ever heard of The Bouqs Co?! You’re in for a real treat with this one, friends! Have you ever wanted something MORE from your flower company?! What about farm fresh, cut to order flowers?!

7 Things To Do With Leftover Spaghetti

We’ve all been there.
Ladies, don’t pretend like you don’t know what I’m talking about.
We embark on the endeavor of making dinner, trying to be fancy with that spaghetti, and we end up making enough to feed every homeless person in your entire state. Yup, we’ve ALLLLL done it.
DON’T YOU FRET my friends!
Today we (my husband and I) are here to bring you 7 Things To Do With Leftover Spaghetti!

1. S’ghetti Fries
When you’re over the typical “chili fries”, go for something WAY more exciting! And not to mention using leftovers, how awesome! Take your potatoes, dug fresh that morning from your garden (or store bought is fine), and make your every day french fries. (Or frozen is fine) Once you’re ready to eat, top with your s’ghetti and heat in the microwave for 30 seconds. PURE PERFECTION! Also, grate some fresh parmesan from Italy overtop, or if you don’t have any,
 store bought is fine.

2. S’ghetti Smoothie
Okay, we’re all into being healthy, right?! Spice up your morning green smoothie! Kale, spinach, apples, celery, carrots, AND S’GHETTI!

3. S’ghetti & Coke
Have a long day at work? Need a drink? Open your cabinet and find your out of rum?! *BUT WHY IS ALL THE RUM GONE?!* Don’t you worry my dear friend, slip that s’ghetti right in with your coke and you’ll never know the difference. Except when you stay sober all night. But, it will be delicious and you can thank me later!

4. Biscuits and S’ghetti
Who doesn’t love biscuits and gravy?! (Well, i don’t but that’s beside the point) I LOVE homemade biscuits. Pioneer Woman makes a great ‘drop biscuit recipe’ if anyone is interested. OKAY OKAY LOSING MY TRAIN OF THOUGHT! Top those biscuits with s’ghetti from last nights dinner and BAM! A full meal for your enjoyment!

5. S’ghetti & Eggs
Probably our favorite on the list so far. (I say “our” because remember when I said my dear husband was writing this with me?! Isn’t he a gem?!?!) Toss some s’ghetti in a frying pan, top with eggs, and cook until your desired doneness.

6. S’ghetti Con Leche
If you’re out of cereal, just use s’ghetti! Place in bowl, top with milk. You’re welcome.

7. S’ghetti S’mores
I HATE when i’m craving a s’more but i’m out of marshmallows. Place your s’ghetti in-between two grahams and you ALMOST have the SAME thing! ALMOST.

But let’s be honest, the BEST way to eat leftover spaghetti is after it has sat in the fridge all night in your tupperware. Cold, alone, and crying for attention. On the middle shelf. Un-noticed. A lot like my entire childhood. Hashtag middle child problems.

Where are my spaghetti lovers at?!?! I hope you found this post fun and light-hearted!
Hope you all have a great week!!

5 Reasons Not To Start A Blog

When it comes to blogging I get one question asked over, and over, and OVER again. “How do I start a blog?” As much as I would truly love to help people branch into the world of blogging, that is such an open-ended question and I have NO idea where to start with it.

I can however, give you 5 reasons not to start a blog…

1. To make money

If you are starting a blog with the only intention being to make money, don’t do it. You don’t just start a blog and wham bam thank you ma’am you’re making money! Blogging takes a lot of work. It takes effort and time and patience. If you’re wanting to make money quick, get a real J.O.B. With that being said, people DO make SERIOUS money blogging. It just doesn’t happen over night. 😉

2. For free stuff

Without fail, I will ALWAYS get messages after a review post is up asking how other people can get free stuff sent to them. Again, this is not a reason to start a blog. When you start a blog you aren’t put on some magical list where people send you things. This again takes time, effort, and patience. You have to network. You have to “prove yourself” in the blogging world. Companies want someone who is going to write them a good honest review. Not just someone who wants free stuff. I mean, that makes sense, right?!

3. Instagram followers

If you start a blog and think your instagram followers are going to dramatically increase, you’re wrong. There ARE bloggers out there with THOUSANDS of followers, but again, this isn’t something that happens over night. Instagram takes time, a ton of hashtags, and the perfect filters. Not even sorry about the amount of hashtags I use. Get on that Instagram game and maybe you’ll be the next big thaaaaang. #werk #fingersnap

4. To “go viral”

This is just ridiculous. Who even starts a blog with this as a goal?

5. To make money and get free stuff

I’m not kidding. Starting a blog for these two reasons is silly. Start a blog because you have something to share. Start a blog because you’re crafty and want a place to showcase it. Start a blog because you have no friends. Start a blog because you live in a small town, with no Starbucks, and you have no friends and you don’t even have a store to shop at and because you really like baking cupcakes.

I hope this post helped you guys! 😉
Truly though, if you have questions about starting a blog or blogging in general,
please don’t hesitate to reach out to me!
Thank you so much for reading and following along this journey called life with me!

Okay, here it is. No forewarning on this blog post because i’m just going for it.

I want to, AND I WILL, start pursuing this blog FULL. TIME.

Most of you are right now are probably saying “okay, so what?” and clicking that little ex to get out of this blog post. Bye Felicia.

But little do you know, blogging takes A LOT of work. Unless you’re a blogger, then you know. You really really know.

Really though, lets talk…

Blogging has been a passion of mine for about three years now. I had a “private” blog for about 6 months before I realized I had something special to share and made this here little blog. It’s MY corner of the internet. And you know what? I’m proud of it. I’m proud of the things i’ve accomplished because of it, i’m proud of the content i’ve created, and i’m proud of the happiness it has brought me. I never knew writing could do this for me. I never imagined writing to be my happy place.

I’m not crafty. I’m not good at hair. I barely know how to do makeup. The list goes on and on. Half the time I don’t even think I’m a good mom or wife. But you know what I do know how to do? Articulate a sentence. And I know how to write. And I absolutely love it. I love that when I am writing, words just flow out of me. (Which makes me sound like I have some sort of sickness, but I promise I don’t.)

I feel like this is the most anti-climactic blog post in the history of posts. But nonetheless, I needed to post it. Not for anyone other than myself, and that’s okay.

So be on the lookout!
More posts! Fun posts! Stupid posts! Life posts! WHATEVER!
I am making this blog MINE again and I couldn’t be more excited!!

Make sure you’re following along our journey on Facebook and Instagram as well!
Here’s to the new adventure of FULL TIME BLOGGING!
