I wholeheartedly believe when you’re doing what you love, and you’re with the people you love, THAT is when you should be most satisfied. For me, that time is right now. I’ve always dreamed about being a wife and a mom and those are both realities for me right now. (Well, the wife part will come in about three months!) 😉 There is no greater satisfaction than hearing the words “mommy”. If you’re a mom, you know what I mean. Being responsible for another little human is what truly makes me happy. I love taking care of her and I love making sure she’s happy. And going hand in hand with that, I love the man that makes this all possible for me and being with him makes me the happiest i’ve ever been. I know I talk about M a lot, but I can’t help it! Hello, he’s AMAZING. 😉 But all kidding aside, my life would be nothing like it is right now without him. He makes staying home with baby girl a reality. He pushes me to chase my dreams. And above everything, he loves me just the way I need to be loved. This time in my life right now is something I thought wouldn’t come for another 10+ years. I can truly, TRULY say I am satisfied with life right now. My life is perfect to me and it just keeps getting better, how lucky am I?! When are YOU most satisfied with life? Is there a certain event that made you feel most satisfied? Don’t forget to check out the giveaway going on right now! Check it out here!
I’ve thought about this question a lot the past few days. Where do I want to be in ten years? Most people could give you a direct answer to this question. “Graduated from school, living in such and such place”, etc. The only things I know for certain about ten years from now are this: I will have a 13 year old. Wait, WHAT?! THIRTEEN? I will also have been married to my best friend for almost ten years. Ten years from now? Ten years from now we hope to be financially supported by our own businesses. I like to think M and I are both entrepreneurial, but M is more so than me. We are always talking about new business ideas or how we could do things better. Also in ten years, I would like to hope baby girl would have a brother or sister, or two. 😉 I’m not one of those people who have a checklist of so many things I want to have happen over time. Do I have hopes and dreams? Absolutely. But being with M, making a family of our own, raising baby girl…right now, this is enough for me. It wouldn’t matter where we are living, or how we are living, in ten years I want our family to still be US. There will be a lot of growth and change over the next ten years and I think it is going to be such an adventure figuring out things together. What do you imagine your life to look like in 10 years? Do you have any major goals?
M and I have been wanting to try homemade almond milk for some time now. Its not difficult, by any means. We just never found the time to get around to it. I think our first attempt was pretty successful! This is literally the easiest recipe ever. And it is FAR cheaper than buying the stuff at the store! I became allergic to dairy after I got pregnant and it has been the most challenging thing for me to overcome. Lets be honest, I’m TERRIBLE at cutting dairy out. This almond milk was really tasty though and i’m excited to keep trying new things! Step 1. Soak almonds overnight up to 48 hours.
Step 2. Rinse almonds and place in a blender. Add 4 cups of water per 1 cup of dry almonds soaked overnight. We added 2 tsp vanilla, and 2 tsp agave nectar but each of these can be played around with for taste. Let the blender go for two minutes.
Step 3. You will need a strainer and a cheese cloth. Place a strainer over a bowl, then the cheese cloth over the strainer. This part was a little tricky for us seeing as we never have done it before, but we managed! We ended up straining it twice because the first time was still a little gritty.
Step 4. Place in container, and enjoy! How simple is that?!?!
Who doesn’t love product reviews?! If you answered “me”, you are welcome to exit now. 😉 If you have ever been searching for a hair miracle, look no further! Ladies, I’M SERIOUS! Aussie 3 Minute Miracle is the best hair product ever. And who doesn’t love that it says “MOIST” across the bottle?! (I kid, i kid)
As someone who wears their hair up 99.539% of the time due to work, I NEED this stuff. My hair ends up so ratty and straight up NASTY after a few days. This purple bottle is my holy grail of hair products. I have purchased this a few times and all but one time I was beyond impressed. The last bottle I bought smelt like a bad port-o-potty. I couldn’t even finish the bottle. It NORMALLY smells like coconut and deliciousness. Thank goodness! When using this product, I normally put it in my hair and let it do its thang while I shave my legs. The only thing I dislike about the product? There’s no cap at the bottom of the bottle. Although you have to squeeze rather hard to get the product out, I still don’t like that its just open at the end. I find that odd. Otherwise, this product is literally the best thing i’ve ever tried on my hair! If you’ve never tried this, run to your nearest store and get some! Do you have any holy grail hair products? Have you ever tried this before? What were your thoughts?! (Disclaimer: I am not being paid by any mentioned companies. All opinions are my own.)
I love links up and finding other bloggers I can relate to! Here are this weeks questions!
1. What was your favorite trip/vacation/activity this summer?
Our Mexico trip was my favorite, by far. I loved sitting on the beach, staying up late listening to the ocean, and oh ya, getting engaged! It was a vacation I will never forget!
2. What was your favorite outfit look/clothing item of the summer?
Well if we’re being honest, I have worked 98% of my summer. Yay for being an adult! And when i wasn’t at work this summer, I was in big t-shirts and sweatpants. Attractive, right?! However, these were a few of my “favorites” this summer.
(Maxi dress and ‘Love’ sparkle tank were both thrifted)
3. What is one thing you wish you’d gotten to do this summer?
My dad came home from Afghanistan and I really wished I was there for his coming home ceremony but it just didn’t work out. Other than that, I think my summer was awesome.
4. What was your favorite song of the summer? “We can’t stop” by Miley Cyrus. #judgeme
5. What was your favorite movie/tv show of the summer? Well I don’t have a TV, so netflix is my best friend when I decide to watch anything. This summer I watched Pretty Little Liars and I was hooked.
I heard about this link up from my new Big, Mal! Check out the questions, grab a guy of your own, and get to blogging! 🙂 I am a little late on this train, but here are M’s answers to week #3!
1. What would you do with $1,000,000?
“I would pay off debt, take my family on a journey around the entire world, and come home to open a cupcake bakery for my lovely wife. Oh and probably a business for myself too.” (PS, I didn’t tell him to say that. Isn’t he the sweetest?!)
2. What is your dream job?
“My dream job is any job that I have created for myself and doesn’t include a boss.”
3. Who is your celebrity crush?
“Well there is….that one chick….the australian girl…she was in ‘I Am Number 4’…uh…*google searches*…Teresa Palmer!!”
4. What is your favorite sports team?
5. What was you AOL/AIM screen name back in the day?
“Mine was ***** and still is to this day.” (sorry y’all, he just hasn’t changed it. hahaha.)
While i’ve been stalking pinterest religiously planning my wedding, i’ve had so many ideas coming and going through my head! The wedding planning process has gone a little something like this…
As soon as I got engaged I went out and bought every wedding magazine in site. Soon after, I bought a strawberry shake from Sonic and proceeded to lounge by my pool and day dream about thousand dollar weddings I cant afford. Hey, a girl can dream!
Also, I did a very “bride” thing and ran to the nearest bridal show I could find. Who doesn’t love going to look at 509390 different cakes, caterers, floral arrangements, so forth and so on?!
While at this bridal show I came across one venue that I knew my fiancé would LOVE. I myself was set on a different one (from pictures), but I knew he would love this one. I went and looked at the one I loved and although it was beautiful, I felt like the other place might be it. We went and toured the venue I knew M would like and I was right, he loved it. (1 POINT BRIDE) We called the next day to tell the events coordinator we loved it and wanted to book. Soon following, we signed our lives away. 😉
I’ve spent countless hours on Pinterest trying to find things I love. I’ve even attempted a few DIY projects. Lets just say i’m NOT the crafty one out of the group, but hey, i’m trying!
DIY GLITTER MASON JARS ANYONE?! 😉
We also had our “Save the Date” photos done and I could not have been more happy with the way they turned out! I had so much fun shooting them and it just reassures me that I am truly marrying my best friend!
Wedding planning has been an adventure for me so far. Its a lot different than just pinning things I like on pinterest. Can you believe this stuff actually costs MONEY?! Okay, kidding, but still. Its been a lot of fun so far! We still have a LOT of things to figure out, but for right now, I feel as if i’m staying on track!
6 more months until this handsome man gets to be my husband!
When M and I had first met, I kept thinking to myself “what if these are all my last ‘firsts’?” Last first date, last first kiss, last first time meeting someones parents. Something about him made me truly believe I had found ‘the one’. I will never forget our first date. He had told me “i’m looking to settle down”. That took me by surprise. Even if guys think that, they usually don’t express their thoughts about it. 4 months after dating, we took a trip to Mexico. I knew from the beginning that Mexico was a special place for M. He has so many memories there and I knew he was beyond excited to take me there. We were only going for a weekend, but I knew it was going to be a fun one. I had never been out of the country before and I was excited to experience this with him. People always ask if I knew he was going to propose. And the story goes a little something like this…. M had somewhat dropped hints that he was going to ask but by the time we got there, I was completely surprised. I kept trying to force it out of him and he did give me this “bring sneakers, we might be going hiking on saturday.” I figured if anything was going to happen, it was going to be saturday afternoon if we took a hike. Saturday morning we all headed out to the beach. We laid out, played in the ocean, and ate delicious burritos from the burrito lady on the beach! Once we decided we were going to head back to the house, I asked what the plan was for the rest of the day. You know, because we were going on an awesome hike or something, right?! I was wrong. So wrong. His response? “Probably just head back to the house, shower up, go grab dinner, and go to the Roger Clyne concert.” Uh, thats it?! It was completely out of my head at this point that anything was going to happen. I figured if anything was going to happen, the girls I was with would have made sure I looked more decent then I did, but they didn’t. We had walked out of the house to head to dinner, only to realize we had locked the keys in the house. Yes, in mexico, keys locked inside. After about thirty mins of the boys trying to get them out, they finally reached them and we were on our way. We arrive at the place we wanted to have dinner and much to our disappointment, they were closed due to a wedding they were having. So lets back track…keys locked in house? Check. Place we wanted to have dinner closed? Check. Little did I know, this was the restaurant M wanted to propose at. You can see the night was clearly going in his favor! We ended up going to a beautiful restaurant that was over the ocean. The sun was setting, we were with great friends, and i’m pretty sure 4-5 out of 9 of us had chicken fingers for dinner. When we finished we ended up walking up through the little fish market area to these statues. It was a cool place that overlooked the ocean and as I stated earlier, the sun was setting. Makes for a pretty romantic setting, eh?! Next thing I hear “oh there is one more thing I wanted to do….”
I honestly don’t even remember what he was saying when he was down on one knee. And for the record, I wasn’t running away. I honestly felt like I was going to pass out and I needed to move my legs or else that would have happened. HAHA!
The rest of the night was spent with some of our close friends and I loved every single second of it! I couldn’t have imagined it any better way. I went to Mexico with a boyfriend and left with a fiancé!! The fact that I get to marry my very best friend is the absolute greatest feeling in the world. I’m excited for this adventure and to see where our life is headed.
Stay tuned for more posts about our wedding planning process and making our life wonderful!
